Just Kids

CBGB on the Bowery was the crucible of punk rock and the backdrop of Patti Smith's Just Kids. Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe lived nearby at the Hotel Chelsea, and CBGB became the stage where Smith fused poetry and rock. The club closed in 2006.
